Back from Africa

Yesterday I went back to Germany from my 14 days trip to Kenya. It was so exciting. We went to Mombasa, Haller Park, Safari, snorkling with seeing dolphins. One member of the hotel showed us a poor village where we visited a school. We gave about 30 children (3 till 9 years old) 30 kg food, oil, sweets and some school equiptment. They danced for happiness and sang a lot of songs for us so we had tears in our eyes.

It´s to long to write everything what I saw and felt there. It´s the most poor country I´ve ever seen and the people there are so friendly and nice. Every travel guide is warning about the dangerous, about the violence against tourists too. So we never left the hotel after the sun went down. But at my last evening I went out (alone) with three black guys who I trust. So we went to a club and they protected me very well and brought me back to the hotel safed. I had to cry as I had to leave two hours later, at 4 o´clock in the morning. I´m sure for going back as soon as possible and with more gifts for the children in my pocket.

Here some pictures:

We got lots of snow yesterday too, sweet cow. I am very happy that you are finally able to see the pictures - I think I sent them all, no? I searched my computer for all of them, but I am not 100% sure that I found them all.

I just had a shower - John is sleeping because he is sick with a cold. It's nice to see that we are both on the Internet at the same time. Are you feeling okay? How is your brother's health?

I will say a pray for her that she lives a very long life. Somethimes these messages are good because it helps people appreciate life more. Do you want to know one thing that is in the package I have sent to you?

When have you been there? I think I fell in love with Kenya and want to go back as soon as possible. I want to see and learn more. I think we can learn so much from african people: to be good and have a open heart and to have time.

Yes, Kenya does that to you - gets into your blood.... as does all of Africa. I was born in Zimbabwe, and have spent much time in South Africa and been to Kenya 4 times. I love wildlife and loved the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

It would be my dream to travel more extensively throughout Africa and be able to write and take photographs.

Can't wait to return.

Okay, you take photographs and I´ll write. :-)
I´ll going back at May 2008, but this is a long time to wait. Actually I read a lot of books about Africa, for example experiences from white woman who live there.
I´m so interested in it that I´m spend a lot of my free time to learn more... I think it´s love. :-)
